This qualification will be of benefit to people who are seeking an entry point to a career in building surveying. Completion of this qualification provides the skills and knowledge to become a Building Surveyor of residential buildings employed with local government or private certification firms.

This qualification is recognised by the NSW Building Professionals Board (BPB)and the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) for a level of accreditation and provisional accreditation as a Building Surveyor. You should make yourself fully aware of all of the requirements of the BPB and the AIBS if you intend to rely upon this qualification in an application for accreditation. The course deals with regulations, codes and design principles of domestic scale construction. In particular learners will be able to inspect, assess and report on the appropriateness of the design and construction of residential and domestic scale buildings (BCA Class 1 and 10).
